At the moment the situation is pure madness! Web developing is pushing the throttle down! Google is developing several projects, beautiful ones, I’m a fan of AngularJS and I’m appreciating more and more their alpha project named Polymer.
Polymer is a new type of library for the web, built on top of Web Components, and designed to leverage the evolving web platform on modern browsers
- A set of polyfills for emerging web platform features. Initially, these core features are enabled as polyfills but go away over time as browsers implement them.
- A next-generation web application framework built upon these core technologies.
- A set of comprehensive UI and utility components for building web applications.
Ok, let’s try it first!
bower install --save Polymer/polymer-elements
bower install --save Polymer/polymer-ui-elements
Once downloaded the components we can start building our first element with Polymer!
1) We have to create our element template in a file called who-am-i.html :
In every element files we have to specify the polymer elements we are using (to work properly), our template (with relative tag) and any following scripts and styles concerning the element/template.
2)After that, do you want to see how is easy to use the element created?
It needs just the platform.js script and the element created.
Check it out on GitHub.
